From June 6 to 8 more than 90,000 music fans will descend on the Nürburgring for Germany’s largest rock festival. As the exclusive automotive partner of ’40 Years of Rock am Ring’, Opel will provide visitors with a chance to relax between the musical highlights and also give some lucky fans who do not yet have tickets the opportunity to see their stars live. At the same time, the manufacturer will be showing that the new Opel Frontera is the perfect car for the community and showcasing the numerous practical solutions it has in store, right down to the roof tent for a multi-day event or other outdoor trips.
"Enjoying a relaxed drive as a young family with space for up to seven people or planning a weekend trip for two with an overnight possibility on the roof – all this is possible with the new Opel Frontera. We are pleased to be able to show the festival goers of Rock am Ring what our new Opel is capable of. In addition, our Opel Lounge, which was set up for Rock am Ring, is the ideal place to relax between the individual acts,” said Patrick Dinger, Head of Opel Germany.
The linchpin of Opel’s presence at the Nürburgring will be the Opel Lounge, which was created especially for the event. Centrally located between the stages, it will be a meeting point for visitors who want to recharge their batteries in the hustle and bustle of the concert – and in more than one way: On the one hand, the cozy Opel area invites visitors to relax. Soft drinks are available from the bar and they can then be enjoyed in a comfortable deck chair between the acts. But what would a festival be without the right mobile phone snapshots of stars and friends? To ensure that the smartphone does not run out of ‘juice’ in between, Opel has installed a charging hub in the lounge.
The new Opel Frontera, which will take centre stage at the Opel Lounge from June 6 to 8, will be just as electrifying – with a very special ‘accessory’ on top. While its rugged design already shows that the Frontera is ready for all daily adventures, the SUV on display at Rock am Ring also has a roof tent that is clearly visible from afar. The Thule Foothill car roof tent, which is available from the Opel accessories store, offers space for up to two people with a sleeping area of around 2.10 x 1.2 meters and is easy to assemble and dismantle. Equipped in this way, the new Frontera becomes an all-round practical companion for camping as well as for open-air festival trips – perfect for all concert fans who want to be independent.
But the brand is not only present in the Opel Lounge during the festival days. The characteristic Opel emblem will also be conspicuously emblazoned to the left and right of the two main stages – and thus visually reflect the energetic atmosphere of the rock spectacle with the brand’s typical Blitz.
Fans still hoping to see the rock stars and Opel live at the Nürburgring at the beginning of June, still have a chance. Although the Rock am Ring tickets have never been sold out as early as this year, Opel has few exclusive tickets ready for fans. Simply go to Opel’s German Instagram channel – where the manufacturer is giving away a total of 7×2 festival tickets.
