operations in eschborn/germany we are looking for an data analyst
(m/f/d) at the data lab for the methods digital transformation
innovation division job description: the methods digital
transformation innovation division advises on digital solutions in
international cooperation projects to this end it monitors current
trends and develops innovative data-driven and technology-based
solutions for ’s future service portfolio which are then
implemented within the newly established data lab as prototypes the
lab works on a company-wide basis and in an experimental and agile
manner it brings together thinkers and practitioners to promote the
effective fair and responsible use of digital data for sustainable
development the first prototypes are promising for example they
allow smallholder cropland and harvest yield forecasts to be
classified by applying machine learning routines and facilitate the
improvement of urban planning through the use of real time traffic
data further experiments are to be carried out in order to use
digital technologies efficiently both for and with our partners at
country level your tasks: designing implementing and analysing
data4development experiments in cooperation with projects on the
ground in the target countries and with partners around the world
identifying data sources and processing primary and secondary data
both within and outside of the project portfolio (including
publicly available data) applying statistical methods and
implementing systems for the collection analysis and visualisation
of data developing applications on a prototype basis to illustrate
and validate potential new business sectors for advising on
development cooperation projects covering a broad spectrum of
digital topics – ranging from the introduction of standardised
tools for data collection through to the design and planning of
complex custom developments acquisition structured processing and
dissemination of knowledge for data-driven solutions and tools your
profile: university-level degree in mathematics statistics
economics engineering industrial engeneering business informatics
or a comparable qualification several years‘ professional
experience as a developer and/or data analyst practical experience
of applying statistical methods to analyse data sets and of
deriving findings knowledge of programming languages (eg python
java perl or c/c++) and database management systems (eg db2 sql
mysql) prior knowledge in the area of international development
cooperation is desirable experience in agile project and innovation
management is desirable good communication skills ability to
integrate with others and work as part of a team independence
resilience reliability fluency in german and english is required
knowledge of spanish or french is desirable if we caught your
