Schwaig (Germany) or Sophia Antipolis (France; near Nice), we are
looking for a Smart Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/d) Your
responsibilities: Contribute to innovation in the context of
Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, Internet of Things, big data,
production automation and related activities and
support customer cocreation projects in dedicated business
environments, closely collaborating with business divisions,
internal and external business partnersDesign, prototype and
develop innovative digital solutions in R&D environment,
liaising closely with internal and external team members across the
globe Support expansion of Hitachi group’s business to EMEA
and global market, evaluate competitive opportunities and threats
and, when appropriate, design and prototype new functions to
support business expansion of Hitachi group’s solutions after
validating business and technical competitiveness hypothesisTake
initiative in new idea creations for the development of
cutting-edge technologies as well as for new R&D and cocreation
approach and opportunities, contributing to team
growth Prepare and submit patents on technical solutions to
provide competitive advantage and protect Hitachi’s IP; publish
technical results (after obtaining appropriate
protection) Participate in related Hitachi events and business
activities, particularly in Europe, but also at global levelManage
R&D projects, analyse system requirements, evaluate scenarios
design, and high-level system design Your profile: Engineering
degree (M.Sc. or PhD/doctoral degree) in production engineering,
manufacturing engineering and technologies, or similar
subjectsExperience with applying mathematics, statistics, data
mining, computer science, physics or related disciplines to
specific issues in the manufacturing domainKnowledge of
manufacturing systems such as SCADA, MES, ERP, automation and
robotics, logistics and supply chain, and proven experience in
R&D or projects related to Industry 4.0 or industrial IoTBasic
knowledge of shop floor machine programming; knowledge of
Python or R, of C++, Matlab, SQL and HadoopGood communication
skills in English«Out-of-the-box» approach to creating new business
opportunitiesWillingness to travel worldwide (up to 40 %) Hitachi
